Remembrance day 2016

Here is a picture of our local Veterans who honored us with their appearance at our Remembrance Day ceremony today. All of these men and women gave so much to help all of us have the lives we have today.

On behalf of Royal Canadian Legion Branch #228, we would like to say a heartfelt thank you to the community of Hope and District for honoring our Veterans by attending the 2016 Remembrance Day Commemorations at the Cenotaph on November 11th.

We would also like to thank the many volunteers whose contributions helped make the day such a success:  the 1789 Army Cadets and their Commanding Officer Captain Schell; Hope Secondary School Band and their Conductor Albert Dayrit;  Hope Secondary School Leadership Program;  Staff Sergeant Karol Rehdner and members of the Hope RCMP Detachment;  Padre Mike Watkins;  Volunteer Firefighters from Hope, Silver Creek, Yale and Sunshine Valley;  Hope Scouting;  Branch #228 Ladies Auxiliary and Branch #228 President Ian Williams.

We are especially grateful to the businesses of Hope & District who participated in our 2016 Poppy Campaign and to the members of the community whose generous donations in support of Canada’s Veterans made this year’s campaign a great success.
